pinta acoustic introduces BALANCE Ceiling Clouds

Acoustical control with aesthetic appeal for clean, contemporary look
The forecast calls for clouds — ceiling clouds, that is. pinta acoustic has introduced BALANCE Ceiling Clouds for acoustical control and aesthetic appeal. The clouds provide architects, interior designers, construction professionals and facility managers an additional design-with-function option.

“It’s vital to consider acoustics when planning a space. The ceiling clouds are one more tool that demonstrates acoustic solutions can enhance a ‘look,’ and create interest and dimension,” says Joerg Hutmacher, sales manager at pinta acoustic.

Ceiling clouds maintain the appearance of an open ceiling while adding significant sound absorption to the space. Excellent application opportunities include open office environments as well as loft spaces.

WHISPERWAVE™ Ribbon Baffles provide spectacular and effective sound control for Eola Eyes in Orlando

Studio 3 Designs envisioned a new interior space for Eola Eyes in Orlando, Fla., which features a stunning sinuous acoustic ceiling composed of custom WHISPERWAVE Ribbon Baffles from pinta acoustic, inc.

Eola Eyes moved to a new location in a postmodern 1960s building that was gutted and renovated by Studio 3 Designs. “By starting from scratch, we were able to create a new simple and clean aesthetic for Eola Eyes. The space features many hard surfaces, including wood floors, brick and glass walls and large windows,” says Nathan Vanags, design assistant, Studio 3 Designs of Orlando.

“We were near the end of the design project and realized that without an acoustical treatment the space would have noise problems,” says Vanags. “We considered a metal grid ceiling with acoustical backer, but the budget didn’t allow for that. We looked for options on the Internet and came across pinta acoustic’s WHISPERWAVE Baffles.”

pinta acoustic PHONSTOP™ Ceiling Tiles installed in historic, renovated Veterans Memorial Building in Danville, Calif.

PHONSTOP Ceiling Tiles from pinta acoustic were installed throughout the renovated Veterans Memorial Building in downtown Danville, Calif. The acoustical control is important in the building, which serves as a gathering place for veterans, seniors and community groups, and a rental space for private events. PHONSTOP tiles are made from 100 percent recycled glass, and the building is in the process of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.

The historic Veterans Memorial Building, constructed in 1925, underwent a multimillion dollar renovation and doubled in size to almost 13,000 square feet. The building reopened in April 2012, with PHONSTOP Ceiling Tiles installed in the new and old portions of the facility.

“We always work with acoustical engineers on large projects such as this one, and they recommended the pinta product,” says Philip Rossetti, Architectural Resources Group. “The building’s community hall can be divided into several smaller spaces, so it’s very important that the acoustics control sound transmission. PHONSTOP was a good choice and looks handsome in the building.”
